Happy to help, I read “front bumper” & “removal” and got a little sick. I just removed it a few months ago & I know one these days something plastic will inevitably break.

As for the job... you know, it’s really not bad. Took me maybe 1 hour for the entire replacement. The hardest part is segment #1 of the cable, which requires disassembly of the dead pedal. This is my second time doing it, as I neglected changing the hood latches out of fear & cost ($80 per latch :wtf:). My car had the exact problem outlined in this thread. Major cable swelling and the guide breaks. Needless to say, the cable broke again at the exact same place after my father tried to open the hood. Had to have it fixed because I just can’t deal with the hood not opening anymore.

Replacement of segments #1 & #2 is done by taping the old cable to the new one and snakeing it. You need to attach segment #3 to the lock, secure it, attach the snaked segment #2 & #3 to the driver side lock, secure it, & you’re good to go. Segment #1 is connected with the junction box. Really easy & definitely not as bad as it sounds. Now to return my ripped #1 to FCP... :p:

I ran in to that a long time ago on an old Mercedes I had, had oil making it in to the intake, giving me fits! When I figured out what it was, I replaced the check valve and the problem was solved... right up until the hose in front of the check valve failed and I got to do it all over again...

Since then, if it’s a bitc* job, I try to replace every wear part (within reason) in the way to the offender. Costs me a bit more for sure but I get the benefit (usually) of one and done and the piece of mind that it’s all new.
