Drove 11hrs straight home. The comfort seats are great for long trip. Avg 21mpg the whole way. The exhaust sounds amazing.

Let's see what the neighbors think now TerminatorX5 ;)
Stupid detail guy from the dealer remove the "Dinan" badge. Now they have to figure out how to order them from Dinan.
Nappa Leather is nice and soft.

TerminatorX5 06-09-2013 12:28 PM

hahaha, he thought it was the previous dealer who sold the car, so naturally, he had to remove it... incompetence rules... lol... i am totally incompetent in rocket science or brain surgery... but i stay away from those fields... if he details the cars, he should know the Dinan, the M, the AMG, the SVT, the TRD and the whole bunch of others... lol...

mrbmwx5 06-09-2013 12:51 PM

Congatz .
Sick ride .
Silver addiction... Me just black.. Lol .. Let the mod begin.

TerminatorX5 06-09-2013 10:11 PM

the neighbor will report you!!! hahaha... happened to me, about 20 years ago, it was 1991, i had a 1989 mercury sable, very nice car but it had 150K miles on it... don't ask me how, but the previous guy racked up all those miles in couple of years... the car looked new, nobody knew what the mileage was or how much i paid for it ($5K), but it really looked more expensive than it was... i was working graveyard shift, car stayed home in the daytime, and i was gone at night...

poor neighbors, they thought that the mexican guy (i could not convince them that i was not mexican, but heck - we were the only foreigners in that town, and there was only one black fellow there - talking about rasisim!!!!), so they thought that i was part of some kind of mafia or whatever...

they should have seen me know, with a fleet of bimmers!!!!

congrats again dude, very sweet ride - is it the one that we were talking about in one of the other threads???

EDIT: oh yeah, and back in 1992 I had a cell phone, in 1993 changed providers and still have the same phone number and service since 1993... definetely a mafioso - i used to drive around and pretend to be talking on the phone... actual conversation was expensive, i only had 20 minuted for a month!!! chicks picker-upper!!!!

pnoyako85 06-09-2013 10:33 PM

TMV!!!!..congrats man!!!!...Happy For yah!!!..welcome to the Big Boys Club....lol..Dinan Upgrades too?!!..what more can i want!!!.......take a vid of your exhaust when you get a chance!!....so happy for you man!!!

If the car has legit Dinan upgrades - Dinan will have the VIN info and be able to sell you a badge. Or if you take pics of the upgrades they can verify the level.

OR

Just buy the knock-offs on eBay

I would go the Dinan route - probably the same quality - but I would feel better in my own sick head that the badge came legitimately from Dinan

Congrats on the new truck

tmv 06-09-2013 11:13 PM

^already sent them an email. Thanks
TerminatorX5 and pnoyako85, that's the one. Not even a hiccup during 750 miles home.
The PPI is clean except the blinking tamper dot for the replaced cluster.

J.Belknap 06-10-2013 12:07 AM

Congrats!

mike_dmt 06-10-2013 01:03 AM

She's sick, for sure! Jelly of you guys that can drop for the "real" mods and modded rides.

I kinda wish I had gotten the 4.6 I looked at before I bought my 4.4..... Hindsight is always 20/20.

mike_dmt 06-10-2013 01:07 AM

So, not to pick, but.... Does the other X in the 2nd pic have a painted rear valance to look like a 4.6 and 4.6 flares and trim on the rear arches, but stock fronts?

Yes to all. Front has "decorative front skid".

4.8isX5 06-10-2013 02:09 AM

Congrats man!!, welcome to the big boys club. What year and how many miles??

Ricky Bobby 06-10-2013 08:25 AM

Wow tmv you pulled the trigger, awesome man! I'd drive it home just for that sweet quad Dinan exhaust! So is this one officially your ride, and the 3.0 officially your wife's now? Or are they both yours? :)

Any way to code off the tamper dot for the cluster, or would you have to order a new cluster coded off your VIN from the dealer to get rid of it? Personally the tamper dot would drive me crazy but that's just me.

jgold47 06-10-2013 08:34 AM

looks nice. makes we want to swap my trim to silver (di-noc?!)... You interested in some nice wood trim?

tmv 06-10-2013 09:27 AM

Thanks all for the compliments.

RickyBobby, I bought it for her but I'll drive whenever I feel the urge (like today :)). She works closer to home. We're thinking about selling my daughter Topaz Blue 02, and hand down my wife's to her. The 01 TitSilver has lower miles and all maintenance done. When time allows, I'll get to the root of that flashing tamper dot.

jgold47 those trim was replaced by the PO with BMW trim. I'm not interested in wood trim. I wrap the ones in the old Silver gloss black, replace wood trim in my E39 with Technical Graphite trim.

That's awesome man, and your daughter should be ECSTATIC if she gets your '01 Titan silver, especially with the beautiful mods/bodywork you did to it!

She would be. Hers isn't bad though but it has 135K miles while the Silver has 104K miles.

you probably doubled the value of the property there with your fleet!!!! or.. maybe not... i parked once in the slams of managua - i must have had quadripled the value of the entire neighborhood!!!

hahaha...

looks beautiful!!!!

so, TMV, are you coming to the bimmerfest? in about 1 1/2 month from now...

tmv 06-10-2013 12:41 PM

But I don't own all of them. The E93 M3 and H Prelude are brother-in-law's. I'm sure the neighbors gonna keep an eye on me now :D
I wish Bimmerfest East were closer and different date. We might take a vacation to VN at that time.

Doru 06-10-2013 01:28 PM

Nice stable. Your neighbors might think your you're dealing the good stuff from BC or Columbia......

Seriously, my wife wants to come back visiting at least once. She hasn't been back there since 1988.
"Chung nao di ru di chung cho vui, Tom." ;)

SlickGT1 06-10-2013 06:31 PM

damn nice stable. What mods are in that sick bastard? Congrats man.

tmv 06-10-2013 11:14 PM

^ It has Dinan: air intake, high flow throttle body, engine & tranny software, exhaust, pedals. I would eventually get the MAF and upgrade software.
