Per forum recommendation I purchased the Romanian software. I dedicated a Windows based laptop with XP for the programs. I also purchased the dash command app with a bluetooth adaptor for an Ipad for easy on the road monitoring.

I had some difficulty with the install but did get it done after significant trial and error.
For others it has been seamless and easy.

One reason I dedicated a laptop was because if all the programs are installed they use significant hard drive space.

Without a clue of what I was doing I messed around in NCS---the result was that I inadvertently deleted the software on my Nav unit.

Thus far, anything I have done has not been intuitive, makes it more difficult.

There is a forum dedicated to utilizing diagnostic/programming software. BMW forum. Diagnostics, coding, programming, repair BMW vehicles. - Powered by vBulletin. My pea brain is very intimidated by the knowledge there and since I don't know the proper lingo, and the sophistication of the conversations are so complicated (to me)I have not asked a question.

I like the Ipad app. There is also one for the android phone.

The biggest issue--Let's say I am watching O2 operation. I know of nothing that even
tells me a reading in the green means all is OK. Further, if the readings side to side are both in the green but one is a very different than the other is that still OK, nothing that tells me what the reading should be. I have either had to figure it out by myself or ask somebody, neither which should be the case.
