4.8is Help with my A/C problem?

Hello Guys & Gals from across the pond

Apologies for my first post being a "help my X is broken" but I have been lurking for months now.

I brought a 2004 x5 4.8is at the begining of the year. Although I thought it was fine when I brought it, it has promptly presented a new issues every month :( but it is still the best car I have owned and I kind of knew I would face issues with a 10 year old car....I just hopped they would be spread apart but oh well. I wanted to learn how to work on cars and my x is fast becoming an excellent project :)

so far I have done droplinks, lower control arms and I have to do the pano roof fix and a couple of cv boots.

I have been hearing a funny A/C realted sound and I hope some of the Gurus on this site will be able to help me.

The link below has captured the sound

x5 E53 4.8is motor noise - YouTube

The sound stops when teh A/c is turned off.

I noticed that the clicking and restart cause a jump on the bottom(i think) hose connected to the webasto heater.

Any help will be very much apperciated. I have the cover gaskets to do in a few weeks so if there is something else I need to change I will rather do it sooner rather than later.
