the TV module gives you A/V input and also allows rear camera switching... the menu on the screen from TV module is rather dated... back to OP problem - Kisu, have you had a chance to go over the nav unit as per previous post? |

First battery/alternator caused my DVD nav laser unit to die (before total death of monitor ...it failed to display maps...just "Loading CD/DVD" displayed. This was before replacement of alternator After replacement of alternator, (car slept for couple of days with no power) it is assuming DVD nav unit is missing. I will update this post once I remove/fix the nav unit. TerminatorX5 - Thanks a lot. Your knowledge and analysis is asset to this form. |
I removed and attached the DVD Nav unit. This actually bought back MID display. But am getting Audio CD error message. This is when I change mode to CD getting CD disc error. Cassette and radio working fine though. Until I attach the DVD unit, CD player worked fine, problem is only after I reattaching DVD unit.
I try to take out the CD magazine. But this is not coming out. Any idea. Do you think, while re attaching DVD nav, I disturbed any CD magzine connecting wires? By the way, I replaced DVD laser unit. But no luck, it still showing message loading maps and doing nothing. May be the unit I received might be faulty.. |
the CD unit seems to be a secondary issue to the Nav unit... the CD unit receives power and iBus via the 3-pin connector, and the 6-pin connector and/or the coax (RG-174 cable with a SMB connector) wire are for the audio - the coax is if you have DSP unit (digital version for the coax and non-digital with 6-pin - non-digital being an oxymoron for a DIGITAL sound processing... )
anyways, the 3-pin is the one that lets the CD changer power up, and the ibus tells the whole thing that there is a CD changer... a lot of aftermarket devices replace the CD changer and emulate it for its own, ipod-mp3-SDcard purposes... since you are getting the CD disk error, the system recognizes that there is a CD changer in the system, but for some reason, the changer itself is acting up... you may have a disk stuck inside the changer, like jumping the tracks and physically being stuck, thus giving you errors and not letting the magazine to come out... to remedy this, you would need to pull the changer out, open up the case (don't lose the tiny screws, and see if there is anything inside the track... another option, without taking it apart, would be to shake it up and see if anything will fall out - not sure how effective this can be... back to nav... are you using original map disk or a burnt back up copy? also, i forgot, what version your nav firmware is? you go in MENU to SETTING and look at the top right corner... it should say 4-1/25, or 4-1/56 or whatever... 4 - MK4, 1- color monitor, and the 25, 56 or 100 - the firmware version... |
Did you jump start off another vehicle or an amped up charger?
Since this all started when you jumped started, and you have resolved some of the issues I suggest going back to the basics if you haven't already. If you know there is CD in the player and the power is on you should hear some strange sounds when you attempt to remove it. It won't hurt to jar the CD player some and see if that corrects the problem. What happens if you try to put a CD in the player? The CD player should not have power when the key is out so you can recycle the player first. I'm not clear if your Nav unit is now working or not. If there is power to the Nav unit, eject the disc and reinstall after a few minutes and see if it starts blinking red or you can pull up the map. |
