window regulator or clip, please advise..
So conveniently tonight my drivers window decided that it wasnt going to roll up. This, as it happens, is during a small break in the midst of several days of forthcoming torrential down pour. I have a shop close by my house thank god. I went there, pulled the door panel, pushed the window up and it went up. My questions; I read that there are plastic clips that break and the regulator could also be bad. How do I check which one I need to replace?? Where is the clip located and can I eyeball it to see if its broken? Any help will be greatly greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance..

the clips are either white or black plastic, the front glass has two holes, plastic clips go through those holes, when broken, they look like they are NOT broken... but, nevertheless, they are broken... the parts are about $2-3 from a dealer - last time i got myself a dozen, so next time sh!t happens, i have them in the jar on the shelf...
i forgot the part number, but they are all over this forum and on the realoem... Do not play with window until you fix the clips.. |
i have that problem at the moment and im just going to replace the plastic parts but over time the metal clip that the windows sit on also ware out.

What do these clips look like? Are they round? Where are they positioned on the window top bottom or sides?

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I found the clips at a local dealer for 1.25 a piece. They have 13 and like you Terminator, i am going to buy them all. I also need a stinking outside door handle as I have recently noticed some jackass broke it and repaired it with a wood screw.
