What coding system to buy

What kind of coding kit should I buy, and will it work with Mac?
All I really want to do is disable my DRL's and other small stuff, but the DRL's must go!!
TIA
Frank

search for INPA - comes with the cable and NCS and some other powerful things... not sure about the Mac though...

Search here or on the Web? Is there a kit to buy? How difficult is it to use?

go to fleabay - there is a dude from romania that had sold a dozen or two of those cables to the members here... INPA is very useful in diagnostics, he also has other, more powerful software in the same package that i was never able to get up and running, but there is also NCS Expert coding tool that helps you code little things in the car, like the DRL, or the seatbelt gong, or the windows roll up on the remote... all comes in one package, couple disks and a cable... about $40-50 shipped...

however, before making ANY changes to your car, read up on programming - you don't want to "brick" your modules

Found two things:

Cable: one-stop-electronics.com

And

Site:BMW Coding Forum

Also, my X5 is Canadian, (ex-US) and I really want to disable the DRL's, so am I barking up the right tree with this cable?

Thanks,

F

There's a guy on Facebook that does coding for BMW and Mini. He can even code your car over the internet. Triple 0 coding is the guy name.

If you aren't gonna use it often, it's better to pay someone to do it. The hardware is not expensive, but the software installation can be confusing/hard.
Your X can be coded remotely. If I were you, I would write down everything I want to be coded to the X and pay someone to do it in one shot.

EDIT: Agree with upallnight, Tripl3OCoding is legit. He can do it remotely.

Sounds like a plan to me!

Do I need any hardware to do so?

I've already sent a message to the guy on FB.

Just be prepared for the inevitable consequence of not having ANY sort of DRL in Canada. ;)
