If you want to scan the LKM module or any other module that is not emission or engine related you will need to get a BMW Scanner. If you have the 20 pins connector in the engine compartment you will need to get a cable that goes from OBDII to 20 pins. If you don't have the 20 pins connector in the engine compartment all modules on your truck can be access through the OBDII Connector under the dash. You will still need to get the software that is BMW specific.

I cleaned off the corrosion and built up the contact points with solder. It's been working fine for over 5 years since the fix. No need for new parts unless the metal contacts have completely corroded through and there's nothing to solder on to.

A Scanner that can scan the truck is worth every penny. So far, since I had my truck, I used the scanner to determine a miss that I was experiencing, turn out it was a coil pack, ABS/brake/DSC lights on front driver wheel sensor, No AC turn out it was a bad AUX fan and another ABS/Brake/DSC light on rear driver side wheel sensor. I was able to buy just the bad parts instead of throwing parts at the problem like so many people on this forum.
