wood trim from shifter

hello all quick question does the wood trim come off the shifter or not?

yes it doen. you need to pull the gear knob off. its easiest putting the knob on N as it does require some force.
Once its off you need to get a flat head screwdrive to flick the shifter button out and the trim should be able to come off

FYI the trim slides upward, if you try to pry it out and way, you may break the tabs that hold it on.

Careful not to hit yourself in the face when pulling the knob from the shaft.
