Are these the wires to tap for steering wheel control and reverse signal?

I'm in the process of installing a Pioneer AppRadio3 and have a couple of questions about which wires to tap for steering wheel control (I'm using an Axxess ASWC-1) and reverse signal for the backup cam.

The Axxess instructions show the following:

That looks strikingly similar to this connector that connects to the factory stereo:

Pin 9 has this wire connected to it, which is White/Grey/Yellow, as opposed to White/Red/Yellow.

Can anyone confirm that is the correct wire to tap for the audio steering wheel control signals?

For the reverse/backup signal, I understand that pin3 on connector 1599 has this signal. This comes off a connector right next to the gear shift knob. It is blue with a grey stripe.

I'm pretty much past the point of no return at this point. :D

These are the amps going in:

I'm using the Janus double din bezel & mount:

If you have the flat pin connector like in the illustration below...pin #9 is the I-bus wire...and that is the bus that carries the data/info for audio components to communicate throughout the vehicle:

This is not my strong suit...I just googled "BMW pinout" and got this info in 20 seconds. As far as the backup wire...I saw some info that showed a blue wire...but I didn't see anything specific ...and there appeared to be multiple sources to connect to get reverse communication...again the wires were always blue...but couldn't tell if there was a "stripe" too.

Try googling BMW reverse camera wire pinout...perhaps you can find confirmation.

Thanks QS!

I'm pretty sure the I-bus is what the Axxess needs to "listen" to, so that must be the correct wire then.

I'll Google BMW reverse camera hook up to see what I find. The other thing I'll probably do is to probe that wire and see what happens when I put the selector into reverse. I'm trying to minimize connecting the battery with the seat out, etc. Probably will get all kinds of errors when everything is back together (air bags, etc).

you can connect to ibus wire ANYWHERE in the car, whereever it is convenient for you to tap at.

for the reverse light - if you have a PDC control, it is better to tap into the PDC control, (i have written somewhere here, where to tap), this way you will have the better control of the camera...
