is yours rubber or metal?
it should come right off with a small flat head screw driver to the side to start prying it out

they are the chrome ones i was gonna paint them black but while i was taken them off both sides bent very badly lol so i order new ones waiting for the dealer to get them in for me

Normally you remove with those handy plastic pry tools (or a paint stick) so as not to mar your paint or the trim. Sometimes they come off fine, sometimes not. I did the same (chrome to black) on my former E34 touring. Out of six pieces of similar trim, I had four that were perfect - the other two were ordered from the dealer.

Good that you bought new, use gentle pressure or a rubber mallet (gently) to install.
