Deactivating keys using BMW Scan 1.40
I have three keys and BMW scan shows 9 active. How do find which are the ones I have?
|
9 active??? wow, i think that the EWS can only take 10 maximum in its lifetime... i think QS had a post about the keys... i just could not find it... :(
|
Has anyone done this using BMW Scan? I guess I can deactivate them until I get to one of mine as long as I can reactivate it.
I just don't want to deactivate one and not be able to restore it. |
i would do that with SSS as it shows which key is plugged in and is less of a risk to use.
|
Where would I get SSS?
Thanks NVM possibly downloading now. |

Thanks. I downloaded it & created the VM but it wanted a license which it said it would allow me to run for a month free then after reboot said the trial was over.
I bought the Romanian deal from eBay. Yeaaaaa 4 cables! lol Thanks |

I have 2 eBay INPA cables and a BMWScan 1.40 cable. Only the BMWScan really works.

Deactivatin/Activating Keys (EWS)
EDIT: just an FYI for those who don't know and may get confused...this information deals with deactivation/activation of the EWS (immobilizing/start) feature...all of your keys contain an EWS transponder/chip...not just the remote key. And it has nothing to do with the functions or programming of the "remote" FZV/DWA (central locking/unlocking & anti-theft alarm siren) features of your remote keys. This is for EWS only. :)See the last section on DISABLING KEYS:
