Whitecat, just order the parts from Gault BMW in Endicott, NY. I got them parts shipped to me in Montana and I grabbed them at my hotel, during my annual ski trip. paint costs more than the parts haha SAD.

They look fine without flares, but they appear wider with them. It just looks better to me.

I prefer the "no lip" look too. With stealth bulbs to lose the egg yoke look.

I still think even with Dan's pics, the body looks wider from the rear with the flares but the wheels look wider without the flares.

By the way, if you don't pair it with fender flares, put a little 3M on the corner of it to prevent chipping. This is how my used part came:
