Thank you and farewell

It pains me to say that my X5 4.6is sold last night. The good news is that it went to a local Xoutposter who has a true appreciation and passion for the IS models. I knew from our original communication that this was the truck for him. He also has a very beautiful Avus Blue E36 M3.

I had all but given up on selling her. This was the only place I ever listed it for sale. I ended up buying a roof rack, installing smoked tails, and got a full detail for her. He sort of came out of the woodwork and made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Some of you may know, my commute is 50+ miles per day, and after I got my beater, the X was just sitting in the garage.

While the 4.6is, and specifically this example, was an absolutely amazing vehicle to own, it was time for me to move on. In the spring time I will re-evaluate my vehicle situation and will eventually get into another BMW.

For now, I'm stuck with my tiny 4 cylinder 318i. :(

Thank you Xoutpost for all of your knowledgeable and friendly members. This is one of the best BMW communities on the internet. We have some key members here that really make a dude feel at home. I'm sure I'll be hanging around, browsing, and hopefully the new owner will post a thing or two. He's an older dude, so don't hold your breath! :)

I did one final photoshoot over in St. Paul, MN with the latest updates.

Gonna miss you Dan, your truck was a blessing to the forum, and you as well as a member. It's been a blast and I wish you well with the sale, the house, and all your future Bimmers!

I'm glad it went to a member. Seems like it will get the love it deserved.
You know that you're still welcome to hang around right? :D

It always seems to happen. Just when you get the feeling, "Well... maybe I can swing it and keep her." SO you do a few more things to it and then you love it more... then you get an e-mail, "I really love the truck, would it be possible to come take a look at it?" The next thing you know, you're both signing the title and shaking hands on the deal. Its hard.

I have the same problem. Just listed mine for sale last week... had a lot of people come by and everyone that did, kind of hoped and prayed they would either low ball it or just say "I'll think about it", just so I can keep her for a little while longer.

Atleast I can still look at my dad's 4.4 whenever I want, but still sad to see Black Beauty go when that time comes.

Last of the photos look really nice bud!

At least it went to an enthusiast.. Hope the 318is is at least an E30!? :)

Grand Cherokee SRT-8, you won't be disappointed!

Best of luck to you and don't be a stranger. Thanks for all of your contributions to this community over the years. It's folks like you that make this the wonderful site it is.

Dang! Right when I was starting my posts here too. I know I would have asked you questions sooner than later. Oh well, I'll probably still think its you anytime I see an x like this around town :P

Jay, thank you for your blessings. You seem like a great guy. Lets keep in touch.

TMV, I will stick around. Keep doing your 4.8 thing.

Ukrcan, this one was special, I hope it doesn't become "the one that got away".

TTGTR, GL on your sale, maybe it will be for the best, or maybe not. :D

BMRSEB, it's an E36, but just a temporary whip, I did look at E30s but my heart is with the E36.

romeokc10, not sure I want/need another SUV? Heard it's amazing.

Ucrew, thank you so much! This is truly one of the great BMW forums. Your classified ad made this possible.

Cheers

You'll be back. :)

Dang Darks, sad to see you go man. I'm on the fence about getting rid of mine. I think she needs to go someone that appreciates her more than me. Hope you find a comparable replacement when the time comes. Adios!!

Still have my X but will probably be spending more time on the 350z-G35 forums.

They had one of these there, but it was more than what I wanted to pay for a summer toy.
