Time on Steering Wheel Odometer Panel
 

Hi All,

I just recently put an ipad in place of my OEM navigation. After doing so I lost the clock that I had on my panel in front of my steering wheel. I use to change the time from the OEM Nav but can't anymore.

Is there a way to change the time manually through one of the controls near the steering wheel?

My X had no nav & a MID. I had to keep & relocate it to my glove to have it's functionality which includes date & time setting. I am betting you have lost that.

The time, range, etc. info that appears on the dash come from the nav unit you removed.

This is just a general observation...not a knock or put down...but it was interesting that a forum member that's been here since 2007 wasn't aware of the relationship of the MID/Nav with the operation of the OBC.

The MID & Nav is the control center for multiple functions that include the Clock, OBC, Phone, Audio, & DSP...the nav unit obviously also controls the GPS & navigation data, too.

The display in the instrument cluster has first priority to the Check Control System's priority 1 & 2 warnings. The OBC functions that can be programmed to appear in the cluster is are only a "fringe benefit"...and are promptly removed from display when ever you press the CC button or the vehicle has a priority 1 or 2 warning (think LIGHTS ON/DOOR OPEN/ETC). The BC button on the tip of the turn stalk can only call up the OBC functions that have been programmed...it has no way to stop/start/set/reset any of the OBC features...that is always done using the MID or Nav screen. Thus if you remove either...you no longer have a way to start/stop/set/reset any of the option/features that they were designed to control. Those features sends data/info to the MID/Nav screen...and once removed...there's no longer a way to control them. :(

And because the MID/Nav monitor controls the audio and other features...many owners incorrectly assume that the MID/Nav is also the radio tuner etc...when actually the radio tuner is incorporated into the in-dash CD player or cassette player...and if you have the Nav monitor...the radio tuner is a separate component located in the rear of the vehicle:
