How deep can the X5 wade

Just wondering how deep the X5 can wade safetly. Not thinking of dunking her but just out of interest. I was watching a program the other night and they drove a range rover through 36 inches absolutely fine with no snorkel or anything.

The owners manual warns against driving through water deeper than 20in/50cm...personally, I would definitely not drive through water that's over 2 ft deep.

This is an e70 X5 at the Performance Ctr in Spartanburg SC going through 3 ft of water on the course... :)

In the video at the following link (@ approx 1:50 into the video) this e53 X5 wades through a stream that comes up to the top of the wheels: BMW X5 alabal

The max being 20", you must of meant 1'?

The problem with driving through a foot of standing water in Texas is you are likely to get half way through when a pick-em-up truck goes by at 50mph pushing a 6' tidal wave and throwing off 5000 gallons of tire spray.

Nah...I was actually stretching it...assuming that BMW says 20"...you'd probably be able to get approx 4" more..making it about 2". For instance, in the link to the video in my previous post...it looks like it was about 2 ft of water by the time the X5 got to the middle of the stream. :)
