Door Handle Broken, Can't Get Door Open

Well the X has been literally falling apart the past month, first the rear passenger window regulator broke, followed by the rear drivers side outside door handle, followed by the front passenger side outside door handle, gotta love BMW reliability...lol!! Anyhoo, the only one that concerns me is the rear drivers side door, the child lock is on so of course I can't get the door open. Is there a way to get the door open or get the inside door panel off with the door closed? I did a search but didn't find anything pertaining to my specific problem. thanks!

There some threads on the outpost of guys removing the door panel (to access the vital parts) with the door closed.

Thanks for the reply, I did a search and as you can imagine there are tons of threads about the door handles breaking, I read through so many my eyeballs were hurting...lol! But I didn't find one was that helpful for my situation.

You need to do this for a rear door. Having changed interiors, door panels, etc. I would suggest:

remove the seat bottom (pulls up)
remove the silver or wood trim on the door panel in question
remove power window switch
remove the torx head screws (follow the threads or your Bentley manual for the various screws to remove, 4 to 6 from memory)
then you'll want to remove the panel, realizing you have less room to pull the panel away before you shift it up & away (takinng care of the door handle and electrical connecitons (speaker, door puddle light & power window switch)

Before you ruin anything, I would rule out that it is electrical and not mechanical. Go in your fuse box and find any fuse related to that door and lock, and pull them out. Then try to lock and unlock all the doors. Replace the fuses and see if it gets the door open.
