Crankshaft position sensor
 

Hello all,

I am currently awaiting my Bentley manual but cannot wait any longer. Can anyone tell me or show in pics where the CRANKshaft (not camshaft) position sensor is? I have searched and searched and all I found was on the bell housing. I have looked on the bell housing and cannot find it.
Also some say passenger side some say drivers side and some say on the front of the motor.?

Year and model would help for starters...

Apologies, I was on my way out last night. Glad everything worked out though!

For future reference (anyone who comes across this thread) the crankshaft sensor is located lower corner of the block on the drivers side closest to the firewall. It's relatively easy to identify, and is retained with a single torx.

Well I replaced the camshaft position sensor and it ran great. But It was warmer when I finally did it so it started. I have also replaced the crankshft pos sensor and this morning no start. What causes the no start below 70 degrees?

Is the SES light on? Is the CEL on? Have you scanned the X for any DTC? Without these it just a wild guess as to what is your problem.

No start could be as simple as no gas or a bad transfer pump which will show gas in the tank, but no gas in the sump at the fuel pump. Could also be a bad fuel pump. You could also have no sparks.
