Does the 4.8is have osv?
 

Does the 4.8is X have a osv? Oil separtor valve im assuming is what that is, if it does im pretty positive this is whats causing the idle smoke, i looked up n62 osv on google and come up with stuff for other bmw mods,, any insight, and where its located?

No it does not. Only thing it has is the diaphragm on each valve cover.

Ditto...did you check the diaphragms (see #13 in diagram below) to see if there's a tear in either of them? As Slick stated...instead of the OSV & diaphram on the back of the engine like the M62/M62TU...the N62 has them right out front on top of the valve covers:

Yeah, did them a few months ago.

What else is in this n62 ccv system, i swear its oil still somehow getting sucked in somewhere at idle.

I THINK the only solution to that is a real catch can. I redid the entire Pcv system in my Audi and I always had a small puddle of oil by the throttle body and after I installed a catch can it all went away
