Doh

Lent the truck to the wife last night so she could go and watch the fireworks. she could not be bothered to get out of the car as it was cold so sat inside with the heated seats on full blast and the engine OFF. You can guess the rest! :hammer:

Fired right back up afterwards and drove home?

OBC test 9 reads 0 volts I'm assuming?

What are you Brits having fireworks for this time of year, Prince George's christening?

You have to get your butt there to jump start it.

Absolutely!

Phoned a friend who had just driven passed and they came back and jumped the truck. Put the battery on charge over night and it was good to go this morning.

We Brits celebrate Bonfire Night on 5th November every year when some bloke called Guy Fawkes tried to burn down the houses of parliament way back in 1605. there are so many firework displays that they are now spread out over a week or so before hand

Just an FYI in case your wife doesn't know about the REST (RESidual heaT) feature...if the ambient temp is below 59F/15C...and the engine has reached normal operating temps...you can use this feature to keep the cabin warm (for a while) without running the engine...in fact, you can turn the engine completely off and leave the vehicle and the blower will continue.

You can run this feature with the ignition in position 1 or OFF. Which means there are fewer electronics running which also means less impact to battery drainage. The seat heaters require the ignition to be in position 2...that means ALL electronic modules are running along.

You obviously can't do this indefinitely...but while sitting/watching the fireworks...you could use the REST feature with engine off (conserving fuel & less electronics are on except the blower & IHKA panel)... then restart the engine when the air begins to cool & use the seat heaters to stay warm.

Again, the more electronics running, the quicker the battery drains.

On what calendar was it 5th Nov last night? :bustingup
Sound like a good time. Imagine how much $$$ get burn or blow for over a week.

"We Brits celebrate Bonfire Night on 5th November"

Remember, remember the 5th of November GUNPOWDER, treason and plot.
He tried to blow up parliament.

Sound like you now run Halloween into Guy Fawkes Night.
