A pair of OEM specced Michelins in Australia = $1100USD

I recently put "Pace Azura" rubber on mine (275/45R20 all round). I believe they are marketed as "Zeta Azura" in other markets.

Been brilliant so far, no complaints at all. Quiet, nice riding, excellent traction in all conditions to date.

Cheap tyres aren't what they used to be...

We initially threw a set of Chinese cheapies (Achillies brand) on my wifes Ford Focus ST - it has 260hp through the front wheels. They have been at least as good as the continentals which were 4 times the price! That is what convinced me to give Chinese tyres a shot on the X5.

EDIT: Forgot to mention prices - 275's on the X5 were $175 each including fit, balance and disposal of used tyres. 225/40R18 cheapies on the wives ST were under a hundred each, inc fit and balance.

Wife is a month into Nitto Mottivo, staggered 275-40-20 front, 315-35-20 rear. Good in rain little hydroplaning, quite, round. No deals in Canada at $315/ea 315 & $275/ea 275 plus $80 install balance. At least they are from a reliable source. We are in the sticks here and so I don't dare chance on line ordering, shipping tires across the border is horrendous shipping costs at $90/ea.

TerminatorX

Great man. They got through our horrible winter in PA as well. No abnormal wear or bad handling, feel great at low/high speeds, and grip/ride wise they are just like having a set o conti dws. My fronts i still left the DWS on they were about 7/32- 8/32. And you cant notice a diff in anything. Ive tried in a parking lot in the rain and snow. Overall i am impressed for the price. Full set can be had for around 570$ i believe.

Thank you, i will put them on my short list...

Are you back to PA or you are still in TX?

TerminatorX5, I have a full set of Delinte D8's on my X with Style 87's (for a couple months now) and so far so good. I purchased them from www.buywheelstoday.com for $542 shipped and would recommend them

TerminatorX5 05-29-2014 12:51 PM

Thank you - the $542 sounds much better than the next one up, the Toyo Proxes (my current shoes) at $820... Especially if the performance is not compromized

ProfessorX5 05-29-2014 08:51 PM

With my sidewalls going bad on the front right one, I may as well get both... hope they sell these in canada.

C'mon boys we all know Pat (4.8isx5) would not be returning to PA life after experiencing the freedoms of Texas lol!

Glad to hear the tires are working nice and SammyD has some good meats as well!
