X5 3.0D Starting headache

Hi. I have an X5 3.0D (E53) which has just recently decided to refuse to start. It just keeps on cranking but wont start. I have replaced the fuel rail sensor, the crank position sensor, the glow plugs, the glow plug relay, the regulator on the front diesel pump but it still wont start!!! The funny part is that when i remove the intake hose on the manifold and use quickstart directly, it starts immediately! I need help.:dunno:

Seems that there is no Diesel being injected,so check your in tank fuel pump.Turn ignition to last position before cranking and you should here a whining noise from the rear of the car !If you dont, here is y0ur culprit:)

Sorry but what is the "quickstart"?

Hi. I have checked the fuel pump in the tank as well as the pre-supply pump underneath the car and they are both working. The diesel does reach the front of the car and into the fuel rail. The diagnostic done today reveals that the fuel pressure is causing the starting problem. However, it doesnt say what component is malfunctioning.:dunno: Any suggestions, please?

What I meant was that NO diesel was reaching the inside of the engine, hence why the "quickstart" worked! If the pumps are ok,its good news, financially:)
The fuel pressure rail sensor is commonly known to fail onn the 3.0D!Have you tried a new or a good used sensor?Failing this, can only be injectors. Before removing them ,try to check all the injector wiring is ok!

ItS any alcoholic spray (usually its brake cleaner) you spray into the air inlet and as it mixes with oxygen in the engine chamber, the car starts up!

WD40 can be used to start a diesel without risking any damage to the engine or components. In fact, it was the recommended "starting fluid" for GM dealers working on the Oldsmobile 5.7L diesel engine. (I was a GM employee for 10 years)

2002 X5 3.0 243,000 miles

Thanks very much. The injectors wiring is good. I will have the injectors removed and tested.
