New radio head unit - recommendations?

Well it's nearly time for Santa to come by, and I just happened across one auction on eBay that looks like a good price for the amount of features...

BMW E39 E53 M5 7" Car GPS Sat NAV 1 Din DVD Stereo Player iPod Bluetooth Touch | eBay

I have some nasty burn spots on my Boardmonitor and frankly, am not getting much use out of the tape player in my 2006 iS (although I did do the BMW Aux retrofit), so why not upgrade and get touchscreen, iPod control, DVD player, micro-SD/ memory slots etc...

Any advice for a noob about which brand has a good all-round head-unit?

(I should add, one that I can just wire in - won't be up for fiddling with blanking plates or adapters or anything)

Definitely not an Eonon.
If your looking for OEM look then I guess it will be Dynavin, but for half the price you could get a double din unit with the same features, better sound quality and a guaranteed customer service.

If you have oem NAV you will lose the ability to set time, date & control 90%+ of your MID.

If not you can move your MID and retain everything (what I did) but that involves extending the wires (easy) I love my APPRADIO3!

Im interested in changing my oem nav also, the nav does not support my region anyway so useless as is the analogue tv function, the only thing I will miss us the fuel consumption monitor but if it means I can have dvd, gps and an ipod its a no brainer...

So whats the best 3rd party one to get these days, Im guessing they have ironed out the glitches from the early days...

Where did you put the MID? That sounds like a good idea I might do this when I upgrade
