power steering leak?

Hi, Seems that my X is in need for a bunch of maintenance...

I noticed the line in the Power steering hoses under the resevior is leaking.. you can see it all the way down.

Attached pic, do I need to replace that hose (I think its #4 as per realoem) or replace the clamp with something that will hold it?

I would clean the hose and reservoir and watch it to make sure it is coming from the hose and not from above. Doesn't look like it is leaking much.

You can try replacing the clamp with the screw type but usually when there is a leak the hose softens and will not last unless you cut it shorter. Probably not enough length to do that.

Throw on a set of new hoses and clamps....iirc the hoses aren't very expensive anyway.

while your at replacing the hose you should do a power sterring pump flush not a big job at all.

Clean it and then look again after it has dried and been driven again to see what is actually leaking. Then replace parts as necessary.

mine is doing the same. its actually worse than that. it seems it seeping through the area where the clamp it.

question, should i replace the clamp with the oem or the screw to tighten clamp will suffice?

Screw type will be fine though you need to be careful not to over tighten it. OEM clamp will keep you from getting it too tight.
