Air Intake Boot Connected to??
There are two air lines that are connected to the air intake boot at the 90.
What are they? Where do they go? The smaller line (which at my best guess is a suction line going to the gas tank) is severely deteriorated and needs to be replaced. Part number? Just cut a new piece? I'm getting a Mass Air Flow sensor P0102 code and it has a habit of stalling when sitting at idle. My previous experience so far tells me this thing is extremely sensitive to air flow quantities. I already replaced the ICV. Rather try replacing this cheap tube before doing the MAF. |
You can try MAF cleaner, sometimes that is all that is needed. To test MAF--remove the connection from the sensor if the MAF is good the idling RPMs should increase.
Not sure what lines you are referencing and don't have a 3.0 to take a look. I do know the have nothing to do with the gas tank. |
Can you explain the MAF procedure a little better? Disconnect and rpm should increase?

The MAF contributes to the fuel/air ratio. When the wires in the MAF are contaminated it will cause symptoms such as yours. If the MAF hasn't been cleaned in 30,000 miles I would just buy the MAF cleaner, remove the MAF and spray the wires until they are clean and reinstall to see if that helps. |
