I hear what the tech said....they told me I may need 3 new solenoids in the transmission and I had various codes.

I found a TSB that the natural safety switch goes bad...it gets dirt in it and does that same thing on 2000-2001 4.4's. I have a 2002. I unplugged the two connectors at the bottom of the transmission....I spared them with WD-40 (actually ACF-50) I also sprayed the neutral safety switch..a small square black box, the trans cable runs into. It solved my problem 100% and it's been 5 months.

The plugs are inches from the road..while waterproof it just depends were you live with salt corrosion. When I unplugged it the connectors looked fine.

If I didn't clean the connections they would have rebuilt my trans.

You may in fact have a trans problem...it's just so easy to clean and spray the connections first, never know.

Well... long story short.. I got a call from Indy stating it's my ABS Control Module and he wants $1300 to replace it with a brand new unit. He said that's causing all of the faults by short circuiting other items and in turn the lights come on, etc. He refused to put in a used unit stating in his experience they either don't work from the start or go bad shortly after installation. Has anyone had any luck sending their ABS control module to be repaired and re-installed? I hear this doesn't require programming the unit to the car.

TRANS FAILSAFE PROG - RESOLVED!!

Well, the car is finally back to normal thanks to my Indy and his troubleshooting skills! So for anyone else reading this and experiencing the same symptoms that are in the youtube link of my initial post, you might want to consider your ABS Control Module. I got the part from BMA Auto Parts for $470+tx. Brand new Bosch unit w/ 1 year warranty. The unit does need to be programmed to your car once you receive it or else it won't work. This is where the shop or dealer come in.
Thanks everyone for all your thoughts and shared experiences. I definitely learned a lot. Hope this thread helps others in the same boat.

I know this is an old thread, but thanks for sharing everything from the beginning to the end because... I'm in the same boat now! My car is acting up since 2 days ago, and I didn't understand what was happening, checked all the fuses and nothing, I was suspecting it had to be an electrical gremling and then I found this thread.
I'm going to check my DSC module tomorrow, and hopefully I can make it work again. Thanks man!
