BMW X5 Auxiliary Heater
 

hello all, Ok I added a post recently about a lound humming noise in the cabin when starting up my 3.0.d and noticed this coincided with the drop in temperature and also swapping out my battery, so could this be my auxiliary heater firing up? and does this heater draw current on startup from the battery? and consume fuel until temps rise?
