A little help please
I had my Pixels repaired on my 03 X5 3.0 and after I put the cluster back in the car I got the self Leveling inactive code on the dash. I did drive the car once while the cluster was out of the car. The car seems to drive fine and the car looks level and normal height. My car has air bags on all four wheels. The light on the switch for that adjusts height isn't on. I have checked the fuses and all seem to be fine in the back. Are there other fuses in the front? So any thoughts that any one has would be greatly appreciated.

you probably got some errors stored in the EHC module and need to clear them (first, read them, and then clear them)... once the errors are cleared, and the SLS is still not not working, then we need to see what else could be wrong...
do you have any diagnostic tools? |
I do have a OBD II code reader, if that is what you mean? I looked for codes and there weren't any. However I did erase codes anyway but that didn't work.
|
OBD II reader will read industry standard codes, and the EHC II is not an industry standard, therefore the reader will not help much... there are BMW specific tools that connect to the same port and give you much more info than a simple reader... you can get something for your windows laptop off the ebay for about $40-50 with a cable or if you have a friend or a friendly garage who can read it for you...

I just ordered one of those on ebay last week, it hasn't come in yet. I have one scan tool that works on my 2000 528i but the isn't a port under the hood of my x5.
|
the 528 probably has a round port under the hood - the E53 used to have that in early models, somewhere around 1999-2000...
if the SLS does not bother your ride or car's operation, wait for the diag package and then try the software... |
