Upgrade to angel eyes DIY?
I did some searching, but to no avail. I'm looking for a DIY guide to switch from my OEM xenons to angel eyes. Is it worth doing? I like the look of the angel eyes, though I'm pleased with how the xenons light up 3 lanes for me ;)

Theres no way search didnt come up, ive seen 10s of AE posts!

I recently upgraded to Xenon's and then fitted some SMD rings, what was the date stamp on the back of your lights if there post Oct 2002 then you will need to cut them open like I did.
Here's my post about doing it: http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...t-upgrade.html |
How about trying the "how to" section on this board.
There is an entire section with DIY's for lighting. Xoutpost.com - Xoutpost.com x5tips.htm |

Get aftermarket with AEs and retrofit Xenon projectors in there. The look is worth it. There are many aftermarket styles, but only one that looks close to OEM.

nice touch with the grille. it all matches |
Great recommendation Tam as always, Spyder is on backorder with both the black and the chrome housing facelift-looking lights you had. I'm in contact with them and they told me to check back in a few weeks with an ETA for a new shipment, but for now it doesn't look like that option is available.
Hella E55 or EvoXR projectors bolt right in to the Spyder headlights, anyone with stock xenon can retrofit their entire stock xenons in there, or use an EvoXR if you want a better projector. Recently completed set for mam4.6 with EvoXR's, he loves the new look. |
