Replacement regulator for alternator.

I have my alternator off and want to replace either the brushes or regulator while I have it off. Would this regulator work for my 2006 X5 4.8is?

The part number is identical to the one on realoem, except this one has the additional designation at the end of m262. I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

Only if your alternator fit this criteria

Voltage Regulator
(Note: For 12-31-7-540-992-M262 Valeo 180 amp alternator only)

Looking at the Pelican website they only carry VR for 3.0 E53 X5.

Number 5 here. Got it cheap from Craig at OpenRoad BMW. Make sure you tell him you are part of XoutPost club. Only way to get 15% over cost on genuine OE parts.
