Key FOB not working
I have a 2001 E53. Wireless entry does not work. First I tried many ways and attempts to reprogram them. Second I cut a key open and replaced the battery, no luck. Third I took the vehicle to a shop to have a computer diagnostics, nothing unusual. Fourth, bought a new key FOB, the dealer tried to program it many times, no luck. Lastly I replaced the antenna AMP on the rear hatch and no such luck. I don't know what else to try or do, any suggestions will help. I checked all of the fuses.

have you tried this?
Program and Reprogram Your Car Remote Key Fob Control Transponder - Program Your Keys Free Instructions - BMW X5 Key Remote Control Fob Programming both my keys stopped working to open and lock my x5 I tried to get it fixed with the website program and at first it didn't work then a few days later I tried it and it worked |
IIRC the door lock actuator can cause problems with the central locking not working.
|
^Or your gas door lock actuator.
|
Also maybe your GM5 module is having isses?

Seeing that you live in Paradise you can't blame the Polar Vortex.

Thanks all I'll try everything. The gas door actuator is fine. Apparently if the GM5 module was bad there would be other issues. The door lock is the only thing that I haven't replaced.

All door locks work, the drivers side works but sometimes does not unlock all the way it seems like the motor is weak, I don't know if that would cause the problem, I just ordered a brand new one and will find out in a few weeks.

There's no motor in the door, there's an actuator. The actuator is base on a solenoid design.
