M54 Jet Pump broken

I was working on replacing the intake boot on my M54 today, and while moving the jet pump out of the way to install the new boot, the pump broke...

I'm thinking that the part failed because of age and the current extreme cold we've seen in SC. Anyway, has anyone ever had this happen? I was able to get the hose off of the top (labelled 1 in the photo), and I see one of those damned crimp hose clamps on the bottom (2 in the photo). I assume I'll be cutting the crimp clamp off the lower hose and replacing with a normal hose clamp.

Does anyone know where the hose connected to 2 goes? I'd like to know in case I have to replace it. I can't really tell from the realoem diagrams. :dunno:

It goes into the intake manifold. FYI, new SJP will have that hoe attached.

I broke the one in my 540i when moving it around, doing the VCG on the car.

Will I need to remove the throttle body and ICV to get to the other end of that hose?

looks like it separated you can use silicone to reattach it

I thought about using silicone to put it back together, but since I won't have any way to test if it's airtight after doing that, I think I'll just get a replacement pump.

I wouldn't know since I haven't had to replace it on the I6. Good Luck.

I glued mine back together when it did the same thing. Runs like a champ.

Got my new SJP today and as tmv noted, the lower hose is attached already. Does anyone have any experience with getting the intake manifold end of this hose off so I can install the new pump? I took a quick look at it this afternoon, and it seems to be a blind install. Grrrrrrrr.....

Decided to put in the new SJP by removing the hose attached to it and using a new clamp to attach it to the hose running to the intake manifold. Best part was getting the lower half of the broken SJP off that hose. Oh well, what's one more busted knuckle? At least I got it all back together. Now I can get back to figuring out my stalling problem...
