what is part number for the bavauto AUX harness? there are couple factory retrofit part numbers, depending on the car's equipment...

I see... this part number is a dublicate/replacement for 65 12 0 153 503... priced rather more attractive than the 503 part... this one is good if you have a pre-wired connector hidden behind the monitor already... there are three variations of this harness
65 12 0 153 501 - E46 with SA 661+650 only
65 12 0 153 502 - E39/E53 with SA 661+650 and E83/E85/E86 with SA 662/609 only
65 12 0 153 503 - E39/E46/E53 with SA 602/609 only

this is what i built for myself for about $5 in parts and cut in my desired length as my AUX is gone to the central console storage bin... I have a post on that in my 4.8 to do/done thread...

the factory specs indicate that the 3-pin pre-wired connector was wired up behind the screens since the 10/2002 production date... without that connector, we need to get into the BM54 directly... depending on the date of the BM54, you might not have the AUX input available/activated... if that is the case, we would need to bring into the picture the heavy guns...

There is guy soomewhere in the UK who is the GURU on the BM53/54... his name is Boris or Baris, not sure... but he can upgrade the firmware on the radio, activate inputs, add some features... he has a website and is very responsive in his emails... before bothering him, lets see if we can manage without disturbing the man...
