LED Angel Eyes

Hey guys I want to get a LED angel eye look from the LCI E70 as shown in the picture. To achieve that white led color, would you just replace a bulb or would you need to retrofit new rings?

white led bulb

If you're intention is to achieve the same color temperature (that led "white" color) on your rings then a bulb swap will suffice. However if you're looking to get something along the same brightness level as the E70 rings is quite a bit more involved.

X5SND, tell him the truth, its a LOT more involved and required dismantling the headlamps and knowing how to PROPERLY put them back together. Easier to say just buy an E70 cause NO bulb swap will achieve the e70 AE's hahaha

The problem with a 2004 X5 is the headlights are sealed in a manner that takes lots of patience and time to get them open to do any upgrading. The upgrading work is a little daunting but there are several treads that will help you through it. When you are done you should be happy with what you have done but it is not as much as you can do.

If nothing more than for comparison I suggest you take a look at what Depo offers, more costly but will get you completely up to date with less pain.

Well forget that plan then! Haha I was hoping it was some bulb like the E90s but guess not! Thanks for the replies all!

Lol! (Hence the "quite a bit more difficult). Getting them open is the toughest part. The rest of it (fitting Rings & wiring) isn't difficult so long as you're careful. Start rushing it, and stuff is gonna break!

I don't think depo makes anything for the facelift housings. (They have been listed as "TBA" on their site for as far as I can remember.)

Oopsie, didn't know that.
