Lowering Links?
 

I see them for the 4.8is, but nothing for the 4.4i.

I'm assuming they would be the same?

I think links are the way to go, no messing with the computer which I keep reading will raise the car to default again anyway.

Does anyone know if the 4.8IS links will fit a 4.4i with the sport package? I like the idea of being able to adjust the links to level the car and lower rather than messing with the computer set up.

For me, using DIS > lowering links.
GL with your choice. If you were closer, I would do it for you no problem.

My buddy has dis, gt1 etc. Links just seem a lot easier.

or modify the mounting brackets as a no-cost alternative

I used inpa and lowered my x5 1-1.5 inches for a year
until I saw uneven wear on the rear and raised it back up and now its back to its normal stiff self, handles like a dream again

Do you have 4 corner air or only rear? If its only rear get the h/r coils for front and they come with rear links.

If its 4 corner use inpa or gt1.

Mine is on all 4 corners.

Then do it software method inpa / gt1.

Gt1 takes longer inpa is like 2 min, and also inpa is easier to setup in terms of computer knowledge.

I roll basically slammed and while the ride is so to say more bounce to it, but settles just as quick which makes it that way, but over bumps is smoother then a hard set of coilovers (comparing from experiance of another suv on 20s and race coils).

If you go say an inch or so lower it looks nicer and the ride actually becomes more "neutral" not as tight and stiff as factory, but not as hard and more bouncy as mine is. Its more smoothed out really.

I've posted these pics before but ill post them again since that thread is probably buried by now - also yours wont look this way unless you run agressive spacers which IMO makes the car look perfect in whichever suspension height.

Whats the procedure for lowering with inpa?

Select e53, chassis, 2 axle air echII.

I believe its F5 or F6 options "activate" then f5 calibration, then f1.

(double check the options i said up top, i havent been in it for a while and may be off on the key numbers)

A box will pop up left rear right rear - here you enter values. say you want to lower 1 inch. You enter 25 and 25, then OK, next box is front, enter the same thing, will drop 25mm all around. 1in=25.4mm but 25 is close enough i dont use decimals in the software.

If youd like to raise it up now, go back to same menu and enter -25 for all.

Don't take this the wrong way, because the look is great, but the reason for the above "neutral" feeling is that your bags are basically aired out when you are more than an inch or so lower, there is such little pressure that's what makes the ride more "neutral" or "shallow".
