Ccv r&r issue
 

Started on ccv replacement and valve cover gaskets this eve. Was goin good till i tried taking the bolt loose that holds the bracket on the steel line part and is the bottom bolt for the coolant crossover, it twisted off right at the bolt head. Is this going to leak once its running? Anyone ever have this happen? I sure miss my 2.8 lol much easier to work on.

I've just done my CVV, I don't remember seeing any brackets or 'steel line part'. :dunno:

There's just 7 6mm bolts that fix the CVV to the end of the intake manifold. Are you sure its the CVV you're working on?

Coolant crossover? Do you mean the accumulator?

yeah, I just did my VCG and VANOS seals, and I'm not sure what you're talking about. pics?

My guess from your description is that if it's a bolt holding a bracket in place, it's unlikely going to cause a leak. But your description isn't terribly clear; a photo of the problem child would help. Even if it doesn't cause a leak, you really ought to get that broken bolt out and replace it with a new one. It can be tedious work, but bolts are usually there for a reason.

Sorry yes i meant accumualator. There is a tab on the metal line the ccv drain clamps on to. I decided ill go ahead ond pull the accumualater now since i had to pull the intake cause the small drain hose off the rear intake cover was broke. I am still worrried about gettin the broken bolt out, we shall see. I feel like im on the titantic lol. Now decided i may as well do valley pan and timing chain stuff while its half way about. What a pain these v8's are to work on. Lol starting to miss my 328i.
