I just had my engine and radiator done by hydrographic printing. To get the gloss finish the printing is sprayed with automobile clear coat. Trim pieces other than the console would be an easy project for hydrographic but I would also get a quote on vinyl wrap--To the best of my knowledge gloss, 3M, the best vinyl out there, does not offer a gloss CF trim.

I upgraded my steering wheel to a SMG paddleshift wheel that I bought used. I brought it back to like new condition using a kit from Leatherworld. Leather Repair Kits - Leather Restoration Kits

Would be pretty cheap option to powder-coat your own wheels if you had a big enough oven to bake them in lol..

Hydrographic printing can be done on wheels. You can also have them mask off part of the wheel and keep it the original color or have them done in two tone such as part gloss black and part satin black.

I wasn't sure I would like my 87s in other than original so I did them in plasti-dip. Before I did so I got an estimate on powdercoating. The cost was $125 per wheel. That included repairing any wheel rash and mounting and balancing. I have looked at purchasing the equipment, I didn't have enough uses, an oven I could use and no spray booth--pain and no payback. Powdercoating process requires the piece sprayed can be electrically charged so it is limited to metal.

Based on how easy plasti-dip is to apply, remove and repair, I think it is the best choice for a daily driver. I was concerned if it would hold up to a commercial carwash that I always use--it does.

One thing I noticed though. Is it just me or you don't have a sunroof at all on your black one?

Indeed it is a good spot, done a bit of recon when I purchased it and yes it is an option to delete the panoramic roof from the factory! Shame actually as I quite liked having it in my Sterling Grey X5 - even though we do not get many nice days to have it open!

I've never seen one without it, must be quite rare combo then. I'd imagine not too many people would decide not to get pano roof on their 4.8is. I'd look at it from a different perspective, weight savings!!!! The entire pano assembly probably weights a ton...:rolleyes: You fellas on the other end of the pond get all the best stuff as always, sigh.... On that note, any more shots of your Sterling Gray beast?

Yes indeed I have only ever seen 1 other one in the UK for sale without the Pan Roof.
