The day has arrived, susp calibration, one last question
My buddy had the Romanian remote in to his computer, got this INPA working.
One question before we do the suspension calibration. Car running or not? I know the air pump usually only operates with the engine running, so during calibration should the engine be running or just the key on with the engine off? |
Good luck with it today man....

Thanks, I've been dealing with a leaning X for a few weeks now. It's painful to look at when walking up to her in a parking lot. Gonna be awesome to see the girl look sober again standing up straight.

I had mine running, and if i remember correctly, it did not automatically adjust using inpa. I had to Lower and raise vehicle manually.
|
I had planned on doing that after reading up on it. Everyone seems to agree that using INPA is the easiest way to go. Unless you know of another way that's easier?
Buddy helping me is a lead engineer at the US Department of Energy... so I'm pretty sure this will go smooth with him lending a hand. :) |
My car is usually running just bc I don't have it hooked up to battery charger and DIS works slow.
I use a feature in DIS called "Set zero point/default ride height" which actually works quite well and doesn't deal with the math of the calibration routines. Its in control module functions of EHCII module. Basically it allows you to raise/lower by the corner, or raise/lower by front or rear axle in increments, although it doesnt tell you the increments, I believe its about 3/8 to 1/2" each time you execute the function. Once you have it set right at all 4 corners that is saved as default, and you're on your way. Very handy if all corners are on point and one corner is off, idk I find it an easy function to use. I just make sure I'm parked on level ground and check with a tape measure to the fender well each time I raise/lower a corner to be sure I'm in spec. |
I didn't have it running while doing it but I do make sure everything is off. It really does't matter. The calibration will be carry out by the computer when you drive after the process according to DIS.

Got done doing this, took about two hours, but it was the first time either of us had used INPA.
My suspension was WAY more out of whack than I thought. Every corner was at least 30mm off in one way or another from the factory height. Finally got everything back to factory and WOW!!! It feels like a whole new car. I'm more in love with this thing now than when I got it. I was going to lower it, but it drove so damn nice that I just left it at factory height. It looks way higher than it did before, but drives like a dream. We tried to use DIS, but he needed a registration code to get it running, the Romanian didn't include that so he emailed him and we used INPA to set things up. Also played around in there looking at some other features. I can't wait until my software arrives so I can mess around with other settings on my car. |
Congrats man....good work and enjoy!
I do not remember if your summer setup is 20's staggered but if not , consider it... You're jaw will fall even more ( IMO) ..... |
I have 18 inch all season. I want staggered 20s. A lot of things on the priority list before them though.
