E53 4.8is exterior color production numbers?
 

I've come to the mountain top to consult with the 4.8is gurus on this one !

Clearly, the 4.8is is a relatively rare beast here in the States...... My question relates to exterior color production numbers that were imported for U.S. sale for the '04 through '06 model years. Any ideas?

Of particular interest to me....... Just how rare is an Imola Red 4.8is?

E53 was made in the US, and technically - was never imported...

nevertheless, we had some threads here about the production numbers, and i think we came to a conclusion that there were about 2000 4.6is and about 4000 4.8is made (LHD, the number of RHD cars is different)... there were better numbers than that, but it is just a rough figure...

there were 4 principal colors of the "is", so you can figure that if each color was equally represented, you would have about a 1000 specimen of each color... in reality, the black is over represented, with white (silver) being the next one and the remaining two are just trailing... both Red and Blue are rare...

Now, lets see if the real gurus will kick in - i am curious about the numbers myself...

how rare are imola red 4.8is?

they made only three imola red ones !! :bustingup

Just kidding, i am sure they are the rarest ones, i have seen a couple, and they are sharp looking!

I see more Estoril Blues then the Imola Reds. IMHO the red is the rarest ( except for the Estoril Blue 4.8is, only a few made)
