Sorry you're having problems already, but it's common on these vehicles, just wait till you have to replace a few door handles and window regulators, plus throwing codes if you fart in it. You'll be ready to pull your hair (if any) out or drive it off a cliff...lol!

Was the bank 1 Vanos solenoid. All is well the x fired right up and idled smooth.

Did the plugs get replaced? They may be junk due to the old oil in the plug wells.

Everything has been repaired as outlined in my original post. Vcgs plugs refinished valve covers OEM cps x2 thermostat and water pump all new hoses new bank 1 Vanos solenoid and solenoid gaskets. Didn't do the expansion tank and it split and shat the bed. So I have a new one of those on the way. And the lonely oil caps they put on the v8 went south. Its funny I put on on my 740 and went through two on my e39 m5. That's getting done too with a new air filter. Hope to get at least 1000 trouble free miles in.

Welcome! Glad to hear you found the problem.
Please ignore Debbie Downer post. Seems to have a binder of variations of the same welcoming theme. There's always one that can't wait to rain on a parade. Interesting--still an X5 owner. |
