Got a sinking feeling in the pit of me wallet
5 Attachment(s)
Just after fixing engine oil leak from alternator bracket, I noticed coolant leak on the floor. I've actually noted this in the past when the car sits for 3+ days, but I kinda ignored it since it wasn't a daily occurrence and no coolant top up required. It never dripped overnight. But while fixing the oil leak and car sat for days on end, I caught the dripping red handed! Seems to come from the back of the engine.
Appreciate any pointers. Any one dealt with this issue? Car is over 100k miles 4.4 2005 sports. |
Sounds like a valley pan gasket leak?

Valley pan or coolant end cover on back of block. Pull engine cover off and you should be able to inspect the valley pan from the top

I hope this info helps.

How has reliability been other than the leak? There is a 2004 4.4 that I am going to look at with 86 000km...I drive 95 km/day...

They are not called money pits for no reasons.
