TV in Motion
 

Well it seems that TVonNAV and Advanced Autovations are the same company and I have the same problems like all of you in getting my paid shipment and no answer... :mad:

So i guess they have disappeared... :dunno:

Can anyone recommend another good vendor/product for:

1- TV in motion lead/module

2- AV connection cables for the OEM TV Tuner

Any help would be appreciated.... :thumbup:

hmmm it seems that every month a thread like this pops up about this guy.
I want to order something like what he offers, but he seems to have a total lack of common business skills. Either he radically changes soon or he goes away for good. :dunno:

They are very good and you can call them if you have problems.

They are in the UK though and dont know if they ship out of the UK. But for anybody in the UK wanting a lead, I`d definitely choose these.

I installed the VIDBMW1 module ($350.00) myself from Soundgate last year into my 2002 X5 (w/nav) along with an aftermarket DVD player and the video quality is VERY good. The big upside of this unit is that it's so much less expensive than competitors and has the ability to handle 2 video inputs (e.g. DVD and backup camera). Plus with a little relay magic, it's possible to get this unit to play while driving without purchasing additional "modules" (though I've tried this once and I have to say, it is NOT a good idea to watch a movie while driving guys - let your passengers do the watching, YOU watch the road!)

The only downside is that, unlike TVONNAV or similar units, there is no audio inputs. You can order an additional Soundgates audio module or go with FM Modulator like I did (which is fine for DVD's, not at all acceptable for Audio CD's in my opinion).

Do you have a OEM TV tuner already? Watching TV is so yesterday - we have a kit that will allow for DVD and/or iPod Video to be displayed on the NAV screen.

If you still must have TV, there is a TV tuner also built in with our DVD player.

I have the complete setup from NAV-TV.com with the OEM TV module, DVD player, Reverse Camera, AUX-IN, TV in motion, etc.

Highly recommend their product and especially service over any other! However I believe they no longer sell directly and you have to go through a local rep.

There are all kinds of aftermarket solutions available now. They may be cheaper, but they will not integrate into your system very well. Most come with a switch or remote to switch between inputs.

The OEM kit will allow you to use the AUX-IN and Television button on your NAV screen. Plus your steering wheel buttons can also be used to change channels, etc. :thumbup:

We actually have a couple of options coming soon - we met with some new manufacturers at last week's CES show.

So how did the install go WolfX5?
I got a VIDBMW1 and one did not work. Soundgate sent me a second one and I can't get video in. I have dip switches 2,4 switched to on. Do you hit mode on the Navi to get video to work? CD or AUX?
