My wife loves our Vert, and can drive the hell out of it, slapping gears, carving corners. :D

I must admit that when I got it in May '02, I thought 'that is it'. It is probably the best car I have owned, in 50+ years of cars.

The C6 enticed me, but I resisted, though the C7 is really jerking my car Jones. Maybe in '15 or...

New cars are a huge expense for the few of us on this board that are Retired Bums. Thus, most of us Geezers are not leaping into XM5s every other year, and most of us drive a few to several year old cars. ;)

Yeah my bad, just a little dark humor, I guess I can't help but sarcastically warn new X5 E53 owners what lies ahead doing their ownership period, somebody's gotta do it. We all know the road ahead for him will be littered with giant potholes, now that is one beautiful car you have there!

Same song, second verse.

I was just like this when I was 10 because I didn't get what I wanted for my birthday.

Welcome! Are you planning on customizing your x or keeping it stock?

C4vert 03-11-2014 07:03 PM

I would like to do some modifications to it

This quote reminds me of the life of Leonard Hofstadter ( Big Bang )

But kidding aside....

We all love our BMW but you have to admit it can be very challenging / frustrating compared to the previous vehicles that we owned.

Thanks guys, on the complements on the ride. Anyway, C4 being that you are a week end warrior it won't be too bad, but there are lots of horror stories and I will start off by listing a few we have encountered.
Door Handle carrier, expansions tank, cold start, oil separator, coolants leaks, panoramic roof, and so and so, and there are others, and those are apart from regular maintenance. And after all the horror stories, cussing, bitching, swearing and want to just give up, you go outside and look at your BIMMER and fall in love all over again and forget the pain. You can't help but love "her", after all she is the Ultimate Driving Machine.

I don't have a clue what your Big Bang analogy is about. Not likely a compliment since you followed it with just kidding (which means you aren't kidding but put that in hoping you won't be taken to task or leaving yourself an out---"jeez, I was just kidding, what's your problem?"

There is nothing to admit. I bought my X5 new and have not found ownership to be challenging or frustrating in any way. If that were the case I would have sold it long before now and cut my loses.
