EWS lockout problem
Been working on my old X5 for about 10 months. The Peaker reader I have is saying the X5 believes it's EWS was manipulated. During the repair process I had the battery out and was using a charge unit to power the X5 from the front when needed. Anyone know any reset tricks? I have tried reprogramming a key, reset via the dash and battery removal over night. Even the Nav screen won't let me in.

Sounds like you may need an EWS resync...which requires the proper software/hardware. Obviously BMW proprietary software can do this BMW DIS/GT-1/MoDiC etc...and probably some of the aftermarket software can do it to (INPA/PA Soft/etc)...but I'm not sure as to which one.

I got the car to turn over after a jumpstart, but the code remains. Weird. Nav screen is still off. I would think a relignment would be only if the car would not start.
