ENGINE FAILSAFE 02 4.6is

Hi, my 02 4.6is is having issues. yesterday while driving "engine failsafe" followed by "DSC fail" popped up in the message box. it does the same today and the trifecta of brake dsc and ABS lights are on. what could it be?

Thanks!!

Sounds like a throttle potentiometer fault but the only way to be sure is to get the fault codes read. Without doing that, you will be firing in the dark.

Check for error codes ASAP

First thing you should do is check the voltage. I've had everything you describe happen with low voltage while working on car.

This is easier to do if you don't have anything to scan for errors. Not unusual issue if the battery is old or the alternator is malfunctioning.

Actually the battery and alternator are new. I just heard back from my indy and its the throttle body that needs to be replaced.

FYI-One symptom of a bad throttle body is it can rattle at an idle.
