Factory Bluetooth
How much is involved in adding the phone bluetooth components to my X5.
I have factory NAV/DSP. Curious |
Sorry it's an 04 X5 3.0

Just posted similar thread for my 01/2004.

you buy the BT module (preferably the latest gen, currently i think it is 13th). get BT antenna, if it did not come as part of the kit... stick the module into the left side pocket, connect the 54-pin connector, connect the BT antenna - and you are done... if you have the TCU module (the SOS module, most likely you have it), pull the TCU module out, as you can have one or the other, as they connect to the same connector...
that's all... |
If you have SOS and inpa email me.

If installing the ULF version of Bluetooth module, you will have to install a pairing button. When I installed mine I hade to locate the wiring harness connector buried under the carpet below the center console. I got the adapter harness from from BMW and installed my custom pairing button in the console armrest, however you could just identify the 2 wires in the plug and tap into them. The pairing button would not have to be readily accessible and could just be located in the console since you only need to access it to initially pair phones.

Do you have the part number to the latest gen BT module

I believe it is: 84 10 9 154 358.

Hi guys,
My 2004 is pre-wired has the phone buttons on the head unit (no nav) and steering wheel. I don't want to do a head unit replacement, but just want to add bluetooth functionality (well, my wife wants it). I've looked through a number of threads and thought I had bookmarked one with the exact details, but can't for the life of me find it. If I snag the latest ULF bluetooth module (gen 13, p/n 84 10 9 154 358), plus the antenna (84 50 6 928 461), is it simply plug in and go? Anyone done this? The above post hints that I would need a pairing button. Any help would be appreciated. As an aside, if anyone has yanked the above modules to replace with an android head unit, PM me. I'm checking the local wreckers. Thanks. |
