Glovebox and floor flooded
2 inches of water in the glovebox. First hard rain this year.
Pano sunroof. I'm thinking drains. I can't visualize the drain holes to try and clean them. Any other thoughts? |
Open sunroof. Each corner has a drain. Your drain most likelly disconnected. There was a guy here that managed to connect it back without removing entire headliner. If it was me, i would remove it all and fix all the hoses. These cars are notorious with the hoses falling off the drains.
Front drains run down a pillar. Rear down c pillar. If it was pano seal, you would have water on your seats. There is also an updated pano seal, so maybe look into that just in case. |
Thanks. I thought it might be disconnected hoses because the outlets are dry, but the channel where the drains are is completely filled. If the were disconnected I would think all of the water would drain out.
|
I was able to reconnect my front drain hoses by just dropping the headliner a bit and reaching-in. You just need to remove the sunvisor and (I can't remember) perhaps the grab handles if equipped. It was a bit tight. If you have "baby hands" it will help but I recall doing it without too much trouble. This was close to 3 years ago.

Or you could have this - or something similar. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/05/abyqa2yd.jpg

Just pulled the pillars. Kinked up. Where does your tube go? Mine goes to a metal chase. Is there something connected.
|
Yup. There's a metal tube it's supposed to go-down. Like this. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/05/5aqa2uda.jpg

Now pour water in the sunroof toward the drain. See where it comes out from the pillar.

I'm all squared away. It was both sides kinked. Straightened them out, whoosh all the water came out. Ill button everything up tomorrow. Curious how and why this happened.
On a better note my garaged e36 vert started right up for the first time this year to switch places in the garage. I'm going to hate having to sell her in the spring. |
