Under The Knife.

Proactive maintenance mostly of the cooling system with 76K miles on the clock.

Radiator, water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, sensors and upper/lower hoses & belts.
Just trying to keep ahead of the old girl as she is 13 years old now and I want to squeeze a few more years out of her. I also just upgraded the lights to Depo's with angel eyes and I'm getting the AE's connected while she is in the indy's garage. He will be upgrading the DISA valve using the kit I bought as the DISA is only a few months old.
Of course you can never really keep ahead of them but I'll make a honest attempt at it anyhow.

Looking forward to seeing your Depo's on the ol' girl Paul, nothing like a nice refresh! I swear as well, when you do maintenance/upgrades on these cars, they run better too. I swapped to Titan silver trim and a ZHP shift knob a couple weeks back, and my '03 runs like a top!

Did you do the G.A.S. DISA repair kit on yours or just buy a new valve? I did the repair kit on mine a couple months ago as mine is still in good shape, looking forward to more good years of service!

I did a new valve back at the beginning of winter last year when it started throwing codes when I reversed. Now I want the G.A.S upgrade fitted while the DISA is still "new". It is amazing the difference a fully operational DISA makes to the overall running.
It will be interesting to see if the overflow tank had started turning brittle and if the sensors were in the process of breaking up. I read about a couple of people who did the overflow and had the oil thermostat die a few weeks later.

Zulu,
Thinking about doing the same here: '01 3.0 with ~94k miles.

Curious about what your Indy is charging, what brand parts, etc.

Yeah, it is hard to keep ahead of these trucks lol!

The trans 'stat gets brittle with age and it sometimes gets damaged/breaks when the tank is pulled. I'm guessing the failures after the tank is replaced is from damage during tank replacement.

Dont forget a new o-ring for the lower hose temp sender if you arent replacing the whole thing.
