OP--if it runs fine and there are not symptoms and no error codes, the sounds are most likely normal. However most likely is not a sure thing. Since audio of all videos vary based based on the quality of the recording device, the distance from the engine, rpms,the quality of the listeners speakers etc. even what sounds the same may not be. I suggest you have a well recommended BMW specialist Indy shop check it over so the engine can be heard in person.

I suggest the hinges should be well lubricated with Vagisil so they go up and down freely. with enough arm spring that should do the job.

bcredliner - taking it to an indy is the plan over next few weeks. My travel plans suck, so it has to be what it is for now. Maybe I've read/heard too many horror stories and I'm paranoid. Will get at least one, if not two indys to look at it. Cheers.
