ANY GOOD X5 TECHS IN THE CHICAGO AREA? Transmission issues on X5
Hello I have a 2003 X5 with 4.6is motor and having the regular issue with jurking when down shifting from 3rd to 2nd and sometimes it goes on safe mode. Truck runs strong on all gears and I am currently just driving it on sport manual mode. I have the cluster abs and brake light come on and off when ever and I just turn the truck on an off and everything clears. Something weird is that from 65mph - 75 mph only the truck vibrates. I balanced the wheels and got a little better but I can still feel it. I have read all the DIY threads and I have an idea of what is wrong but I don't want to take it to a shop that has never dealth with these issues or the stealer. Anyone recommend me a good tech I would really appreciate it. Want to get it resolved the first time and save $ were ever possible. Thanks again guys

Check out "Helmut and Vito's" in Downers Grove. I used them to update my transmission software to solve hard 1/2 shift problem a couple years ago. Honest and professional outfit. They specialize in Audi / BMW / Mercedes.
